CHINA 5G Development

PT.CGI have slogan that is let’s connect the future over 5G, 5G Developer is very fast in China. China is the biggest marketing in the world, from the global map overview China account for 20% of the world population but occupy 80% 5G resource. China network deployment is in the leading position with a huge market. China until March 2021 the total already launched 80.000 gNb onair with the 5G subscriber has exceeded 350 million, for example in Guangdong province is the No.1 the quantity of site more than 80.000.

Subscriber is important indicate from demand side because the new network will get benefit from subscribers, because subscribers growth is our driving force. Nowadays there are 4 operators in China , the No.1 is China Mobile which own 117 million subscribers this is the biggest one it accounted 50% market in China. The second is China Telecom about 100 million subscribers. The third is China Unicom with account 80 million, and the China broadcast network is a new player which has declared to cooperate with China Mobile and this network claiming to build 400.000 700M 5G sites by the end of 2021.

 

China 5G Frequency Alocation

Until 2020 China goverment had release more than 800MHz, include 620MHz for TTD mode, and 200MHz for HDD mode.

 

China 5G Handset Band Support List

That is statistic of mobile phone wgich released in the recent two years, from the result we can see if 100% of terminal support 2.6G and 3.5G Band, around 30% of the terminal support 2.1G and 4.9G band, and only 25% of terminal support 700M Band. So from this result 800 Mega and 2.1G terminal industry chain still not mature.

 

China 5 G Develop Milestone

In 3 years ago China already released the license to full up later, and in November 2019 launch the non-standard alarm network. In November 2020 GCI operator already launched standard alarm network and the progress is really fast and steers being number in the word.

 

Global 5G ORAN RoadMap

  • First solution is from Intel. Now most of vendor is on this way it is a mutual major market the advantage is that the hardware is popular in the market, the disadvantage is the efficiency not high but the consumption is high so the cost also is high.
  • Second solution is from ARM. That is a British company and now still on developing 5G by ARM Architecture, this is based on the reduced instruction set so the efficiency is more higher and the consumption is lower.
  • Third solution is from QUALCOMM. The solution name is sister ARM chipset, the advantage is the size become more slow, lower consumption, higher performance, and lower cost. The disadvantage is the system and the firmware is fixed so we cannot upgrade after produce so it is not so flexible.
  • In summary considering power consumption performance, upgrade ability, the ARM RoadMap is balanced the solution and it will leading overland roadmap in the future because the way of decreasing operation and maintenance cost.

 

Product Invest History

In early of 2018 we set up 5G laboratory in China Gwangzo, in the October 2019 we released the first protocol stack version 15 (PSR15), In the January 2020 we released the extend unit and remote radio unit (EU&RUU), In August of 2020 we joined the NG interface decoupling test in operator. In April 2021 we cooperate with China broadcast network, we plug the Boao Asian forum Live 5G IN Heinen Province.

GCI 5G RAN PRODUCT

This is GCI laboratory the network architecture that GCI already set up end-to-end mini network include core network, access network, and the terminals. It seems like a mini operator that we can generate a sim card by ourself define the user quality such as golden user, silver user, and bronze user. GCI set up the application server and interactive with terminal such as get temperature and noise, collect the video from the camera besides already tried different type of terminal to access the network since the compatible with terminal is very important.

About our protocol stack split mode we define the scope of work from each unit so the split mode will impact the equipment design and the network planning.

Research on a different split model according to the different customer requirement. From here a introduce our product one by one so first from the core network, we have three type of core network product it will apply to different scenarios depend on the capacity and throughput. Until now the Open RAN is not so popular in the operator this still gets the equipment from the mainstream vendor such as Exam Huawei, so from my opinion the Open RAN is more suitable for the industrial application here also plate 3 type attention chance.

  • Manufacturer type such as smart manufacturer, smart hardware, smart mine, underground.
  • Culture and Education, smart travel, entertainment, video apply, smart education.
  • Management, smart city, smart industry park, smart Grid, smart UAV. We will keep pay attention to the industrial application because it is our potential market.

    • The high configuration core network support 200 user and 20Gbps throughput.
    • The middle configuration core network support 100.000 user and 10Gbps throughput.
    • The last configuration core network support 1000 Users and 1Gbps throughput.
    • This core network is look like book, the weight is only one kg we can bring it to do the unfilled test in a travel package it is very convenient for temporary task.

This our baseband unit supports maximum 4 cells, support to a band, support 5ms single period and 2.5ms double period frame structure, support VONR and Captiva with other vendor code network such as mainstream vendor Ericsson, Nokia and our NG interface is open for everyone.

Extend Unit is supports cascades to level each extended unit can support maximum 8 remote radio units.

We have four type of remote radio unit the quantity of channels will demand, we are determining the slope now we have have 2 type that is 2 channels and 4 channels. And the transmit power will determine the coverage now we have three time 250Mw, 500Mw, AND 2W. We will choose it depends on the scenarios, if we want to bring a setup system to somewhere from core network to RU and the weight is around 15kg one sealed case is enough. So if we want to go to other side we just bring one packages it is okey it is good for the temporary task and very convenient.

 

Automatic Networking of Mobile Terminals

About the mobile phone access network we have tested the following seven kinds of terminal such as Huawei Chipset while we meet serious nycp, another is QUALCOMM chipset such as Samsung and cocktail, the last one the mobile phone is based on Unisoc that is China chipset vendor.

    4. Compatible with enterprise network, is the urban land system there can integrated with he enterprise internet it can make full use of existing resource also it will reduce the enterprise cost
    5. Private, the enterprise can store and process the data in the local server to ensure the data security in security status.
    6. Reduce Cost, that is sensitive to everyone now I think the FPGA card cost is a most expensive unit in this system so we have considered our local FPGA vendor to reduce the cost.
